Past speakers have included Members of Congress from both political parties, Capitol Hill staffers, business leaders and various D.C. community leaders. The Cornerstone Intern House provided me with a warm, friendly, familial atmosphere that made me look forward to coming home after a hard day’s work in the Senate. Looking back, I remember the laughs, not the legislation; I remember the stories, not the speeches. I went to Washington expecting an enriching and valuable professional experience. Who would have thought that in addition to that, I would gain so much more in the relationships I developed that continue on well after my time in D.C. expired.
